GREEN CONVENTION TO BE JUNE 7, 2008 . . . The Nebraska Green Party will hold its biannual state convention on Saturday, June 7.  Party officers will be elected for the next two years, and delegates will be chosen for the national onvention in Chicago July 10-13, 2008. Site and hours have yet to be finalized.

SPECIAL IRAQ VIGIL – FIVE YEARS TOO MANY – BRING THE TROOPS HOME NOW . . . Wednesday, March 19, 2008, 5:00-6:00pm, at the Federal Building, 16th and O Streets, Lincoln, take action in solidarity with national events coordinated by United for Peace and Justice.  On the 5th anniversary of the US invasion, join Greens and the Nebraska Coalition for Peace in calling for an end to the Iraq occupation.

NEBRASKA GREEN PARTY CANDIDATES . . . Green Party candidates filing with the Secretary of State for 2008 elections in Partisan elections are Steven R. Larrick, U.S. Senate; and for Douglas County Board, District 1: Scott Hoffman; District 3: Tom Foster, and Derek Glaser; District 5: Susan Koneck.  Laverne N. Thraen, Jr. has filed for the Non-Partisan OPPD Board of Directors Metro District.
