{"id":688,"date":"2013-01-27T08:08:53","date_gmt":"2013-01-27T08:08:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/nebraskagreens.org\/?p=688"},"modified":"2013-05-29T08:09:49","modified_gmt":"2013-05-29T08:09:49","slug":"green-notes-week-of-january-27-2013","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nebraskagreens.org\/wordpress\/2013\/01\/27\/green-notes-week-of-january-27-2013\/","title":{"rendered":"Green Notes Week of January 27, 2013"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"content\">\n<p>Abbreviated Green Notes for the week of January 27, 2013<\/p>\n<p><b>In light of the governor&#8217;s &#8220;stamp of approval&#8221; on the Keystone XL pipeline route, the following collective response will happen in Lincoln on Monday.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Monday, January 28, 2013<\/b>, &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/journalstar.com\/news\/local\/groups-to-protest-pipeline-route-approval\/article_919f71e0-9b46-5f89-b570-e4d0342b55e4.html\">Groups to protest pipeline route approval.<\/a>&#8221; \u00a0There will be a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.boldnebraska.org\/\">Bold Nebraska<\/a> \/ <a href=\"http:\/\/www.idlenomore.ca\/\">Idle No More<\/a> <b>rally to protest Governor Dave Heineman\u2019s decision to approve a route for the Keystone XL pipeline through Nebraska on the north steps of the State Capitol, Monday, January 28, 2013, at 4:00pm.<\/b>\u00a0 The rally will include a round dance, Native drums and wish lanterns to raise awareness about attacks on indigenous sovereignty and lands in the United States and in Canada.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/whiteclayboycott.blogspot.com\"><b>Boycott Bud, Support Pine Ridge<\/b>.<\/a>&#8221; Students from Creighton University, University of Nebraska-Omaha and University of Nebraska-Lincoln announced a boycott of Budweiser products at a news conference January 22, 2013. The students have asked Anheiser-Busch, brewer of Budweiser products, to end alcohol sales in Whiteclay by purchasing the beer stores in that town and retiring the liquor licenses, and to provide funding for expanded alcohol rehabilitation on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation.
