The mainstream media should be ashamed of its minimal attempts at informing the American people about the TranPacific Partnership (TPP). Negotiated in secret, the TPP is NAFTA on steroids<\/a>. It\u2019s urgent we demand that Congress oppose a \u201cfast track\u201d of this treaty.<\/p>\n

You may be muttering, \u201cWhy pay attention to this irrelevant issue?\u201d After all, we\u2019re too busy working long hours to buy cheap Nike shoes, iPads and apparel from retailers like Walmart<\/a> to celebrate the Christmas\u00ae<\/a> holidays.<\/p>\n

Indeed, we are so busy buying stuff destined for landfills that we don\u2019t realize we are disposable too. The wizards behind the curtain of the TPP are 600 corporate \u201cadvisors\u201d<\/a> for rich multi-national corporations that don\u2019t care about public health, the environment and human rights. They care about profits\u2014period.<\/p>\n
